Eviction

What is Eviction?

Eviction is the act of forcibly expelling a tenant from a property. It is a difficult and expensive process for all parties so there is usually a legal proceeding surrounding it. Landlords need to give tenants a Notice to Quit before the eviction process can start. Review your local regulations to make sure all eviction proceedings are done above board or the eviction can be further complicated.

Landlords typically undergo eviction proceedings when there are irreconcilable lease violations or nonpayment of rent. It should be used as a last resort as it carries human and financial costs.
